Graduate Quality Engineer – Sheet Metal & Fabrication Dukinfield Salary: circa £30,000 - £38,000 (doe) + benefits This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business based in Dukinfield as a Quality Engineer. THE ROLE As a Graduate Quality Engineer you will be reporting into the Quality Manager and will have a strong problem solving focus to the role. You will be working closely with the manufacturing team to identify non conformance issues, identify root cause and put in place corrective actions. You will also be a key member of the company’s continuous improvement program and will tasked with reducing waste and reducing the scrap rate. Finally, you will be responsible for ensuring that new products are managed efficiently through the NPI process using APQP, PPAP and FMEA where necessary. THE PERSON The successful candidate will be a Graduate Quality Engineer with a good understanding of sheet metal, fabrication or machining. With the business embarking on a major continuous improvement programme, candidates with six-sigma knowledge will have a distinct advantage. You will also be fully conversant with fishbone/ishikawa, 8D and 5Y methodology. You will be strong on NPI and will be familiar with tools such APQP, PPAP and FMEA. Finally, as this is a role supporting the manufacturing operation, you will ideally have goods hands on engineering experience.
