Lead External Quality Assurer

What you’ll do

  • Lead day-to-day quality and compliance activity across the External Quality team.
  • Plan and chair UK EQA team meetings; contribute to standardisation activity.
  • Hold regular 1:1s, track KPIs/targets and agree CPD plans to develop the team.
  • Support investigations, appeals and complaints in line with policy and direction.
  • Plan and complete monitoring visits to IMI-approved centres (UK and, where required, international), reporting on performance and risk.
  • Complete centre risk assessments and maintain an EQA strategy for each allocated centre.
  • Identify non-compliance, agree action plans and applying sanctions where required.
  • Provide clear advice and guidance to help centres improve quality, consistency and effectiveness.
  • Carry out prospective centre approval and investigative visits, making evidence-based recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records, close engagement forms in Centres Hub and keep IMI systems up to date.
  • Design and deliver workshops for internal teams, centres and international audiences.

What we’re looking for

  • Comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of requirements for approved centres.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to advise, guide and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and time management, with an analytical and self-motivated approach.
  • Confident report writing with the ability to produce accurate, clear records.
  • Ability to run training sessions/workshops.
  • Comfortable using IT systems to access information and produce documentation.
  • Appropriate occupational qualifications.
  • Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer qualifications.
  • External Quality Assurer qualification (or willingness to achieve once in post).
