Reporting to the Team Leader for Material Management the Level I Material Handler will work within the supply chain structure to ensure a smooth flow of incoming and outgoing material/Customer shipments. A level I Material Handler will. Ensure that both imports and exports are processed in compliance with HM Revenue & Customs procedures and have a good understanding of Export compliance, customer and company procedure. They will also ensure that the department’s targets in respect of Operational Excellence and Customer OTIF are maintained Primary Responsibilities To be a member of a team that is responsible for the picking, packing and despatch of all work and sales orders within a stores environment. Key Responsibilities * Documentation & Recordkeeping – Ensure that we are completing correct shipping paperwork both internal hardcopies & online website information. * Manage Adhoc Export Shipments * Complete data entry requirements for the Import/Export team * Ensure Imports/Exports comply with tariffs, duty regulations * Help clear incoming Purchased parts including Sub-Tier & Mexico * Help the shipping team when required, scanning, filing, labeling boxes, etc. * Approval and Validation of some commercial invoices * Have access to all supplier portals (RR Matrix, PWC, GE, etc.) * Help ensure all customer deliveries are met * Be conversant with all the scanning and archiving of paperwork * Be proactive in scanning all historic documents * Fully interact with other departments * Booking work orders to stock and putting away in the correct stores location * Control of all parts with a shelf life * Daily cycle counts * Generate all paperwork and labels, as well as be able to pick all Temperature, Speed, and P&D products as per picking lists to ensure traceability is maintained * Be able to transfer and adjust stock on Baan * Maintain the highest standards of Housekeeping Qualifications/Skills/Experience Qualified in Known Consignor Aviation Security Training A good communicator, with the ability to communicate at all levels within and external to the business Knowledge of Baan or comparable ERP system Must be computer literate Be able to work not only on own initiative, but also as a team member The ability to work to the company’s and the customers procedures Good numerical and literacy skills Experience within an aerospace stores environment Essential Staff in this grade will be expected to have knowledge of an aerospace store environment, and have the ability to learn new tasks when required. They must be willing to learn and follow the company’s procedures. They must fully understand the importance of traceability within Aerospace stores.
