You’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening a community that supports and recognises automotive professionals. This is your opportunity to influence how members experience the IMI, shape the future of membership, and help drive professionalism and progress across the sector.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and develop the membership engagement team with clear goals and accountability.
  • Own and improve the end-to-end member journey, ensuring a consistent, member-first service.
  • Drive sustainable growth and retention across automotive and emerging mobility, using insight and feedback.
  • Evolve the membership value proposition (benefits, recognition, development pathways) and report performance against KPIs and budget.
  • Champion continuous improvement and be a visible advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion.

About you

  • Senior membership leadership experience (professional body/association/subscription) across growth, retention and member experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive sector (or closely aligned mobility/transport environment) and its stakeholders.
  • Proven people leadership, with a track record of coaching teams to deliver results.
  • Data-led approach to improving processes and customer journeys; confident stakeholder communication.
  • Commercial awareness (KPI and budget management) and a values-led commitment to inclusion.
