An opportunity has arisen for a Product Engineer who will be working on the development of new battery packs for commercial vehicles) Overview of the department: You will be part of the electrical design team which in turn is part of the wider design team made up of the electrical, mechanical, and thermal design teams. What will be expected from you: Own Design and Release of Electrical Commodities and Electrical Components across various Battery programs. Ensure iDFMEA & Commodity Design Validation Plan, Engineering Specification, Standards (ESW), Design Rules & Guidelines, Requirements, and Statement of Work process/documents are effectively implemented in the design condition at the appropriate design maturity gateways. Ensure robust timing plans are in place that achieve Program milestones. Lead issue resolution (FIRGS) and make sure all changes are implemented robustly. Lead suppliers through the design phase, procurement of prototypes, production tooling and ensuring components perform to requirements. Analyse & support technical requirements to support customers within the constraints of manufacturing, sequencing, and optimized giveaway cost. Contributes effectively toward team goals, exhibits influence within a work group and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.What we are looking for in you: Ideal candidate will hold a Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Exposure to complex Electrical Distribution and Electrical Automotive Systems 2D/3D specific CAD tools: PTC CREO would be an advantage. Design through to production Specifying and designing automotive/battery pack low voltage, high voltage, and control hardware, including an understanding of typical battery characteristics and protective systems Typical BEV and PHEV battery system solutions and technologies.
