Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join a leading and fast-growing manufacturer within the automotive/ aerospace industry. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with the company's overall objectives and goals, ensuring cost-effective procurement, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and implement purchasing strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives and goals. * Identify and source suppliers that provide high-quality materials at competitive prices. * Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement. * Manage the purchasing process, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory management. * Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. * Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of supply. * Continually monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and pricing standards. * Manage and develop a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance and support as needed. Skills and Experience Required: * Proven experience in a progressive manufacturing environment. * Demonstrated management skills that ensure supply chain alignment, empowering, motivating, and inspiring confidence in others. * Effective time management skills, adept at multitasking and prioritizing tasks. * Broad knowledge of commodities related to aerospace seat builds. * Experience in negotiating and implementing legal contracts. * Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and inventory control processes. * Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with commercial supplier organizations and negotiating with suppliers. * Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, VA/VE, problem-solving tools, and components of a lean/continuous improvement work environment. * Ability to present data effectively to all levels of the business. * Strong commercial acumen. * Five years of similar supply chain experience within manufacturing, preferably aerospace. * Builds positive working relationships with direct reports and peer groups. * Proven ability to make business decisions based on quantitative data and weigh alternative solutions. * Clean and current driving license required; occasional business travel may be necessary. * CIPS accreditation or relevant related degree depending on industry experience. This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process, and we aim to reach agreement to the changes
