To engineer products and components. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: To conduct yourself as a professional engineer befitting of the organisation. To be responsible for design and development projects. To deliver such projects on time, to project cost and to project specification. To write and approve as appropriate, standards, work instructions and guides. To liaise with customers and suppliers and ensure your Engineering Management knowledge is contemporary. To work closely with internal customers (Commercial & Production) to ensure project targets are met and exceeded. To supervise design and detail engineers and when appropriate, approve detail drawings. To be technically expert in your racing formula and/or product group. To assist the Engineering Manager in the timescale and resource planning of engineering projects. To ensure continual improvement in the design and manufacture of Xtrac products. To actively promote the Principal Engineer Team and undertake management duties as necessary. To undertake reviews and mentor your staff to achieve their performance targets. To undertake annual performance development reviews. To liaise with the Quality department to ensure that latest principles are utilised on design projects. To support the Quality department with respect to ongoing ISO accreditation requirements. To observe Health and Safety rules at all times. To carry out reasonable duties as requested by Management. PERSON SPECIFICATION E=Essential D=Desirable Education, Qualifications and Training Minimum of BEng or BSc (or similar), ideally in an engineering or aeronautical discipline, or a lower qualification with considerable experience in a similar industry - E Incorporated or chartered engineer, or actively striving to become incorporated or chartered - D Knowledge Knowledge of data management using Excel, Access or similar.- E Advanced knowledge of market sector(s), transmission functionality and design limitations - E.
