GSE Technician – Heathrow 📍 Location: Heathrow Airport (On-site) 💰 Salary: £46,000 – £46,700 per annum 🕒 Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off | 6:00am – 6:00pm Join Our Engineering Team Are you an experienced HGV Technician, Plant Fitter, Mechanical Technician or GSE Technician looking for your next challenge? We're looking for a skilled GSE Technician to join our engineering team at Heathrow, maintaining, servicing and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), vehicles and plant equipment. You'll play a vital role in ensuring equipment is safe, reliable and ready to support airport operations. If you have experience working on HGVs, plant machinery or other heavy mechanical equipment and enjoy fault finding in a busy workshop environment, we'd love to hear from you. The Role As a GSE Technician, you will: Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on Ground Support Equipment, vehicles and plant machinery. Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults. Complete inspections, brake tests and safety checks. Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and maintenance records. Liaise with the Workshop Supervisor regarding additional repairs and parts requirements. Report Vehicle Off Road (VOR) requirements promptly. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. Maintain workshop tools and equipment, reporting any defects immediately. Follow company Health & Safety and quality procedures at all times. What We're Looking For Essential Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Light Vehicle, HGV or LGV qualifications accepted). Practical experience maintaining and repairing HGVs, plant machinery or other heavy mechanical equipment. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills. Good understanding of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Good awareness of Health & Safety procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Experience working on Ground Support Equipment (GSE). HGV Class 3 licence. Forklift licence.
