This is a 6-month contract opportunity for a project manager to support an automotive engineering company involved with the design, development and manufacture of innovative electric motors and electric drive (e-drive) solutions for the electric vehicle marketplace. Responsibilities: Project Manager * The Senior Project Manager is responsible for driving all engineering Project Management activities required for bidding and delivery of internal and external client projects * Working as part of the engineering project management team, you will take responsibility for the preparation of Project Management documentation and associated baseline project plans for review and submission to internal and external stakeholders. * Performing a client-facing role, you will be responsible for the client relationship ensuring clients are kept up to date with progress whilst protecting the wellbeing of the project and team. * Leading multi-disciplined, multi-region technical engineering teams to deliver complex development projects into production * Implementing and actively managing a live risk register and change log, working with the engineering teams to identify mitigation activities to safeguard successful delivery of the project. * Working with engineering, supply chain and third-party suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components into the project at agreed milestone dates. * Occasional international travel to meet clients and suppliers across Europe, China and the USA Skills / Knowledge required: Project Manager * A degree qualification in engineering or similar * Project Management qualification – APM / Prince2 / PMI etc * Proven ability to drive, manage and control teams and projects in a demanding and challenging automotive engineering environment * Ability to solve project issues, think outside the box and lead the way with tenacity and continuity * Strong knowledge of technical engineering project management within a hardware and software engineering environment – ideally automotive * Proven ability in leading cross functional teams, clients and suppliers on a global scale * Passionate, proactive, self-starting, organised and efficient individual * Use of appropriate project planning and office software (e.g. MS Project etc) Location: Commutable from Farnborough, Guildford, London, Southampton Basingstoke, Petersfield etc. You will be required to work onsite 3 days a week and 2 from home
