My aviation engineering client is seeking a Trainee Shot Peen Operative to join on them on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to start a career in the Aviation MRO (Maintenance Repair & Overhaul) industry and is eager to learn and develop new skills. As a Trainee Shot Peen Operative, you will work and train in accordance with quality and health and safety standards in a fast-moving production environment. You'll undergo comprehensive training to learn the skills and techniques required to operate shot peening equipment on aircraft parts. ** Previous knowledge and experience working within an engineering facility or Shot peening / Grit blasting environment will be a distinct advantage ** Role: Trainee Shot Peen Operative - Permanent Position Location: West London Pay: From £23,446 per annum plus shift allowance Hours: 40 Hours per week, 4 on 4 off shift which will require flexibility in working hours including working weekends. ** Candidates MUST hold right to work within the UK without any restrictions. No sponsorships can be offered now or in the future. ** Job Profile * Undergo comprehensive training to understand: - The principles of shot peen and grit blasting - The operation of shot peening equipment - Technical drawings - Working within EASA 145 standards * Assist experienced shot peen operatives in the setup and operation of shot peening machines. * Learn to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine shot peening requirements * Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of shot peening equipment. * Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. * Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines * Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in shot peening operation Ideal Candidate Profile: * Good knowledge of health and safety requirements. * Previous experience of working in an Engineering environment. * Previous experience of working in Shot peening or Grit blasting environment. (Desirable but not essential) * Willingness to follow directions and learn from experienced shot peen operatives * Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment is an asset * Ability to lift and carry heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time * Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines. * Ability to work occasional overtime in line with business needs. * Requires training in the use of overhead cranes. * Understanding of manual handling is necessary. * Involves the use of hand and power tools, ovens, and complex machinery. * Maintain a clean and tidy workspace to 5S standards. * The position involves lifting heavy aircraft components. * Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent. * Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English Benefits * Free onsite parking * Competitive Salary Package * Discretionary Bonus Scheme * Discounted Flight Benefits * Reduced Gym Memberships.
