The Planet Group have recently been engaged by a market leading Aerospace company that manufacture control/navigation products for the aerospace and defence markets. We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join the team in Plymouth on an initial 6 month contract. As a Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising our company's supply chain operations. You will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods and services from suppliers to customers, while also implementing strategies to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance. Objectives of this role: * Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and distributors. * Ensure customer satisfaction with timely deliveries. * Protect brand image and reliability. * Promoting partnerships and strategic alliances. * Develop new sourcing strategies. * Ensuring suppliers are aware of and comply to the latest supplier quality requirements. * Implement directives and strategies from board of directors. Responsibilities: * Monitor and plan inventory, working closely with the operations team. * Prepare and present reports on supply chain performance to senior management team. * Manage all aspects of supply chain including placing purchase orders, monitoring supplier performance and approving supplier invoices. * Enforce strict adherence to procurement and quality policies. * Keeping abreast of current trends in volatile variables of the supply chain, such as raw material costs and availability, component availability, logistics rates, etc. * Adopting and complying with industry standards and best practices * Looking out for ways to reduce supply chain costs while improving service quality. * Agree pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers and distributors. * Work in cross-functional teams to resolve day to day supplier technical and commercial issues. * Communicate with stakeholders on supply chain issues, cost reduction, risk mitigation. * Acting as an advisory for product development and coordinating changes in product/processes Skills and qualifications: * Degree qualified, preferably Business studies or relevant Industry experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment * Supply Chain Operations Reference Professional (SCOR-P) * Use of data analytics and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software * Knowledge of best practices, industry standards, and market trends. * High level of organization * Demonstrated leadership abilities and people skills. * Ability to negotiate with suppliers and distributors. * Project and risk management Apply now and be part of the team that's redefining aerospace! ✈️ Diversity Statement: Diversity drives innovation, inclusion drives success.
