Supply Chain Manager

Our client, a manufacturing business with a strong domestic presence, seek to appoint a Supply Chain Manager to lead activities that drive down inventory and lead times whilst improving on time delivery. As Supply Chain Manager you will introduce new tools and processes to develop the overall supply chain capability of the factory teams throughout purchasing, planning, warehouse and transport. You will be of degree calibre with a long history within supply chain management for manufacturing businesses. You will manage four team leads (puchasing, planning, warehouse, transport) and liaise with 3PL transport providers and your equivalent within manufacturing to ensure parts arrive and products depart on time to meet customer requirements. It is important that you have a full and thorough grasp of ERP systems, expected lead times for both suppliers and customers, and understand how purchasing, production planning, warehousing transport combine. It is especially important you can guide and mentor enthusiastic but inexperienced colleagues and provide the leadership needed to ensure peak performance.  Supply Chain Manager - Role and Responsibilities - ERP, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Buying, Production Planning, Scheduling, Warehouse, Transport, Lean, Continuous Improvement * Functionally lead the supply-chain teams across the plant * Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement actions around OTD to drive plant performance above a sustainable 95% * Lead inventory modelling, reporting and action plans * Implement strategic supply chain improvement tools to manage the inventory reduction, OTD improvement, slow and non-moving stock provision and customer lead-time * Support Supplier development teams in lean supplier development activity Supply Chain Manager - Skills and Abilities - ERP, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Buying, Production Planning, Scheduling, Warehouse, Transport, Lean, Continuous Improvement * Educated to degree level or with appropriate work place experience/qualification * Experience with and sound knowledge of manufacturing supply-chain and Lean methodology * Ability to teach others effectively. Trainer skills certification preferred * Strong data analysis & capture skills. ERP experience * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven presentation skills, including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Ability to engage a cross-functional team towards a desired outcome.
