A cutting-edge UK-based aerospace company is seeking a Space Systems Engineer to collaborate and support the specification, development, and verification of electronics systems within our clients supply chain. This role Ideal for an engineer with experience in electrical systems, instrumentation, and embedded control particularly within the aerospace, defence, or space sectors. Space Systems Engineer Contract (Inside IR35) 6-12 Months £.Competitive Buckinghamshire Space Systems Engineer Key Responsibilities Review, assess, and guide the development of electronics systems within supply chain, ensuring compliance with ECSS standards from a systems engineering perspective. Act as a technical liaison between external electronics suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams. Apply ECSS engineering standards (e.g., ECSS-E-ST-10, ECSS-E-ST-20, ECSS-E-ST-50) across the system lifecycle, from design to integration and testing. Support the review of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system architectures for space applications. Participate in system-level testing, validation, and verification, ensuring compliance with mission requirements.Space Systems Engineer Requirements: Degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (PhD preferred). 2–3 years of experience in systems engineering, ideally within aerospace, defence, or space. Familiarity with ECSS standards (e.g., systems-level ECSS-E-ST-10, ECSS-E-ST-20). Aptitude for electronics practical exposure through work, projects, or hobbies (formal qualifications not required).Desirable Experience with space mission integration, testing, and certification (thermal, vibration, radiation).
