We are looking for a Shift Manager to support the smooth running of their assisgned shift rotation. Shift: Continental Shifts Benefits: Holidays, Pension, Life Assurance, Excellent Salary Purpose of role and accountabilities: Reporting to the Production Manager the Shift Manager is responsible for driving, leading and directing the Shift in order to support the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes, associated systems and procedures to ensure the sustainability of the site, measured on safety, quality, cost, delivery and people (SQCDP) Work with other functions within the site and shared services to meet and better SQCDP targets. Overall responsibility for the site after normal office hours. - Manage the shift to ensure efficient production and achievement of SQCDP targets - To manage WIP and post NC to ensure minimum stock holding and dwell within operational KPIs - Manage stock and WIP to a minimum - Control operational KPI’s within budget - Record downtimes and put preventative actions in place - Monitor and record changeover times against plan - Monitors weekly/daily measures and improves work processes - Ensure machine operators record performance against vericut for each unit produced. - Start/end of shift communication and communication of daily priorities - Handover with previous/next shift to enable smooth running of production - Daily housekeeping walk through and corrective measures activated - Use problem solving techniques to resolve issues and implement improvements, liaising with supporting functions where necessary - Proactively involved with maintenance team; planning, monitoring and managing progress within production priorities and SQCDP - Facilitate, lead and participate in production meetings; reporting adherence to KPIs, shift performance, and SQCDP and supporting action list where necessary - Produce daily report(s) covering performance against SQCDP - Collating data to feed into weekly KPIs e.g. OEE, on time delivery with a supporting action list Core skills/attributes needed: QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED * H&S qualification/accreditation (desirable) * Qualification(s) in an engineering/manufacturing discipline (essential, or desirable with proven experience) SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED * 5 years’ experience and a proven track record of achievement within a manufacturing environment (essential), preferably within fabrication and/or machining capacity. * Demonstrable leadership and management experience (essential) * Ability to coach and train others (essential) * Knowledge of quality standards (essential), preferably IS09001 / AS9100 (desirable) * Knowledge of HSE requirements and demonstrable experience proving ability to apply correctly (essential) * Demonstrable lean manufacturing skills/experience (essential) * IT literature – able to use Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel i.e. able to create basic formulas, manipulate data, produce graphs (essential) * ERP systems (essential), preferably Paragon (desirable) * Aerospace industry experience (desirable)
