A manufacturing automotive client of ours in the Ipswich area are recruiting a Purchasing Manager to join their team. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week and paying between £60,000 - £70,000 per annum depending on relevant skills and industry experience. Reporting to the Supply Chain Director, your key duties in this Purchasing Manager role will include but are not limited to: Identifying and developing strategic suppliers as part of the local sourcing strategy in order to maximise opportunity for cost savings, whilst retaining quality. Leading and developing a team of 7 buyers to ensure materials and resources are available to ensure continuity of manufacturing and aftermarket customer support. Developing the purchasing team to help career growth. Managing the department budget and maintaining KPI's. Monitoring and driving corrective action for Invoice Price Variances (IPV), Purchase Price Variances (PPV), year on year deflation (YOY). Seeking new methods of purchasing. Any other duties as required. Skills and Experience required to be considered for this role: Manufacturing and/or Automotive experience desirable. MCIPS qualification desirable but not essential. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Business/Supply Chain Management. Management experience. Excellent communication skills across all levels. Previous experience within a senior procurement role and managing a team. Ability to build strong relationships. Understanding of the current Global Supply Chain. Experience in using an ERP system.
