Profile Our client requires a Purchasing Manager, who will play a crucial role in shaping their procurement strategies and leading a team of skilled Buyers. They'll be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and delivering high-impact projects that contribute to our company's expansion goals. What you will do: Lead and mentor a team of Buyers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with our company's growth objectives. Negotiate contracts and close deals with optimal terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality. Manage key vendor relationships and identify new supplier opportunities in emerging markets. Conduct market research and analyse trends to forecast changes in the automotive industry. Oversee inventory management and optimize stock levels to support production demands. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with business needs. Implement and maintain procurement systems to enhance efficiency and transparency. What you will have: Proven experience in a senior purchasing role, preferably within the automotive industry, and new emerging technologies. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities. Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making. In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement best practices. Proficiency in vendor management software and ERP systems. Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; MBA preferred. Good Microsoft Office capability, with an emphasis on Excel Extensive knowledge and experience in Purchasing practices, lean manufacturing techniques, and continuous improvement methodologies Experience in all aspects of Purchasing Management within a Tier One Automotive Business, or equivalent Ability to add value and reduce costs Experience working with suppliers to deliver QCD Experience in leading and developing a team or department The successful individual will be joining a business that focuses on creating long-term value for customers and employees through a passionate dedication to excellence and a disciplined management process.
