A leading manufacturer of precision machined parts and assembly & fabrication solutions is looking to recruit a Project Manager or experienced Project Engineer on a permanent basis, to join their team near Burnley. The position is offering circa £40,000 p/a, with additional benefits included. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager, you’ll be responsible for management of projects for several key customers, which will include RFQ, Engineering Change Management, Continuous Improvement & Facilities Projects. Your role as Project Manager will be to ensure these projects are delivered to a defined project management plan, mitigating risks and resolving issues to minimise impact. Key responsibilities for this role will include: - Manage Projects from RFQ stage through the project life cycle. - Overcome roadblocks and manage risk assigning accountability and tracking through to closure. - Communicate project progress & milestones to relevant stakeholders. - Arrange & chair regular project meetings as necessary. - Produce and manage project documentation to ensure consistency across all projects and programmes. - Create and govern project management plans including timings and budget control. - Support the Programme Manager in driving accountability for impacts to project progress. - Ensure effective communication across project teams and stakeholders. - Conducting ‘Lesson Learnt’ project reviews. - Ensure the RFQ process is followed and governed accordingly. To be considered for this position, your application should show a strong engineering background, ideally in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment. An Engineering / Manufacturing degree or HNC/HND would advantageous but not essential. You’ll need to be comfortable taking a lead role on multiple projects, taking them from RFQ and Customer order stage, through progress milestones to final delivery. For this you’ll need to be able to demonstrate previous success in a Project Manager or Project Engineer role; the ideal applicant will also hold (or be working towards) a formal Project Management qualification such as Prince2 or APM.
