Consilium are supporting a thriving first tier automotive supplier with the recruitment of a Production Manager to drive production excellence and continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing facility. This is a permanent role based onsite, Monday to Friday. Salary: £ Negotiable + £ 600 per month car allowance + Private Medical + 5% Employer Pension  + Bonus to 15% Salary Commutable from:  Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester, Northampton, Warwick The Role: The Production Manager will create a continuous improvement culture to ensure safety, quality, and productivity, including creating and driving targets and strategy goals and objectives to direct reports. You will identify cost reduction potential and check monthly achievements and take responsibility for management of local customer relationships and requirements. The Production Manager engage in introduction of standardised work and efficiently use LEAN/SIX SIGMA tools. You will participate actively in organising launches of new productions, approving, and receiving of new projects into mass production, including centre management via key figures and benchmarks. The Production Manager will support effective management of people including mentoring and development and delivery of personal development plans. Additionally, you will lead the organisation by promoting and creating a positive working environment and culture to retain employees. Focusing on EHS and Quality, you will ensure that all issues regarding EHS and quality are implemented and observed according to IATF 16949. The same applies for EHS and other relevant regulations, in particular ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 requirements. You will operate and work being fully conversant with the required quality, cost budget and delivery metrics. The Production Manager will manage the daily production plan in order to meet the customer's demands with optimum costs, maximum quality and make efficient use of visual tools in the plant and ensuring effective feedback loops to all stakeholders. The Person The successful candidate for the Production Manager role will possess a university degree in Engineering or comparable discipline and proven experience within fast-paced manufacturing such as the automotive first or second tier manufacturing supply chain. You will possess a proven experience managing multi-layered manufacturing teams including effective people development plans. An effective communicator, you will be able to influence via the presentation and usage of relevant data sets. You will be able to use modern visual management tools in a production environment and will be conversant with the appropriate ISO standards for manufacturing ideally IATF:16949. The Production Manager will enjoy delivering operational efficiency within a manufacturing plant including maximising uptime, improving plant OEE and ensuring a right-first-time production ethos.
