NPI Project Engineer  UK regional role, not site-based. Covering 3 sites within the UK, extending to northern Europe. NPI Project Engineer (BIW) required by a tier 1 Automotive company specialising internationally in the design, development, and manufacture of innovative products to increase vehicle safety, whilst reducing weight, and combatting energy consumption & environmental impact. As NPI Project Engineer (BIW) you will be responsible for the development, management, and provision of engineering processes for BIW Assembly Projects within the UK and Northern Europe, managing multiple deliverables/ suppliers on concurrent timelines. You'll also ensure adhesion to budget, timing, product, and process requirements. Other responsibilities include: Review of component designs (manufacturability/ achievement of tolerances/ propose feasible solutions to problems). Customer interface (OEM's), presenting information on project deliverables/ changes. Drive process improvements, implement new techniques/ technologies where applicable. Design/ calculate/ cost assembly facilities, ensuring plant requirements & KPI targets are met. About you: Have excellent understanding of automated MIG/Resistance welding and manufacturing processes/ techniques. A strong understanding of Automotive OEM Customer Specific Standards/ requirements/ tolerances, with ability to perceive and counteract potential assembly issues through product DFM reviews/ tolerancing requirements. You hold strong knowledge in mechanical design, and in depth understanding of BIW assembly processes.
