Metrology Laboratory Technician Job Description What will I be doing? * Take a pro-active role in running a busy metrology lab. * Carry out calibrations/verifications using metrology equipment and methods. * Maintain the metrology lab equipment's calibration status and housekeeping. * Maintain metrology procedures to ensure their correct applications and propose improvements where necessary. * Maintain the quality management system within the metrology lab to ensure compliance. * Provide, through knowledge and experience, support to production with regards metrology. * Participate when necessary with training or awareness operations for operators in the use of measurement equipment and best practices. * Schedule calibration/verifications regimes to minimise disruption to internal customers. * Liaise with calibration houses to schedule collection/delivery of equipment requiring external verifications. * Review approved vendor supplied calibration certificates to ensure they comply with Safran LS requirements and update the system to reflect this. * Manage the resolution of equipment that fail calibration/verification requirements. * Participate in both internal and external audits with regards Metrology & investigations for Materials Lab and Test Engineering Job Requirements What do you need from me? * Knowledge of manufacturing principles including methods, processes, production control, plant and tooling based on a lean enterprise approach * Product knowledge expertise * Knowledge of Aerospace * Target achievement * Personal drive * Analytical thinking * Performance improvement * Adaptability * Working effectively with others * Influencing * Interpersonal sensitivity * Focus on compliance
