Interim Procurement Manager

We are seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to oversee and manage our rapidly-growing client's Procurement operations in Burnley. The successful candidate must have a proven track record in team management with a deep understanding of both operational and strategic procurement, ideally within the automotive / aerospace industry (or similar relevant manufacturing environments). The main purpose of the Interim Procurement Manager is to manage a capable team of 2, understand and enforce terms & conditions, set team and supplier strategy, set team spend and be involved in cost saving and NPD. This is a contract position paying up to £55,000 per annum (PAYE FTC). With a start date of April/May 2024, we can consider people who have a 1-3 month notice period! This is 5 days on site in Burnley with an early finish on a Friday and flexibility to work from home if/when needed. Main Responsibilities: Lead and manage the procurement team, ensuring that all procurement activities are carried out efficiently and effectively Develop and implement procurement strategies that are aligned with the organisation's objectives and goals Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations, and maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records Develop strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms and conditions for the organization Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action when necessary Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives Oversee tendering processes and ensure that they are conducted in a fair and transparent manner The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience in procurement, with a proven track record in team management and purchasing within a relevant industry to automotive / aerospace Strong negotiation skills and experience in developing and managing supplier relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives Ability to commit to the full 12 months+ Ability to be on site in Burnley 5 days per week If you meet the requirements, are within a sensible daily commutable distance to Burnley and are interested in this opportunity, please don't hesitate to apply
