We are currently looking for an Interim Commodity Buyer to join our rapidly-growing client in Burnley! The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing raw materials, monitoring LME and currency exchanges (ideal, but not essential), sourcing new suppliers, strategic supplier engagement and will come from automotive / aerospace (or other relevant engineering environments). The company has grown in success and size over the past few years and supplies to some of the bigges names in Automotive and Aerospace. They are at the forefront of new products and innovation of the industry, and any time spent gaining experiecnce here would be truly well spen! As well as experienced candidates, this role could suit someone with less experience but who has the drive and interest in Procurement and wants to receive excellent mentorship and training in the field for 12 months+ The Interim Commodity Buyer role a 12 month FTC paying £30,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience) and is 5 days a week on site in Burnley. There is an early finish on Friday and flexibility to work from home if/when needed. With a start date of April/May 2024, we can also consider people who have a 1-3 month notice period! Responsibilities: Source new suppliers and conduct supplier assessments to ensure compliance with company standards Monitor LME and currency exchanges to ensure timely procurement of raw materials at competitive prices Engage strategically with suppliers to establish long-term relationships and negotiate favourable terms and conditions Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials Support the development and implementation of procurement strategies that drive cost savings and improve supplier performance The ideal candidate: Experience in purchasing raw materials, preferably in the automotive or aerospace industry, would be ideal Experience in strategic supplier engagement and supplier relationship management, or experience in customer-facing roles ideal Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills Ability to commit to the minimum 12 month period  Ability to commute to Burnley on a daily basis If you are interested in this position and meet the above requirements, including being able to get to site 5 days per week, please don't hesitate to apply
