Oliver John HR are delighted to partner with a leading manufacturer in their search for a new Account Manager** Overview This role is field-based and will focus on obtaining, growing and retaining customers for the client. The Account Manager is expected to develop business with existing customers and drive profitable sales growth by identifying and winning new business with prospective clients. Responsibilities The Account Manager will develop business with existing customers and will drive sales growth by identifying and attaining new business. - Manage a portfolio of pre-defined Automotive and non-Automotive accounts. - Forge and develop new business relationships with prospective customers to agreed targets. • Ensure profitability, by maintaining and improving gross margin and net margin, to agreed targets. • To facilitate new business enquiries in-line with internal processes. • Liaise with internal sales to ensure that forward planning of customer demand is optimised. • Work closely with the internal team in the event of a customer issue to ensure that the problem is solved minimum disruption and cost to the customer. • Dealing promptly with all requests to ensure customer satisfaction is always met. • Completion of external or internal cost breakdown documents • Organise a call plan to ensure that customers are visited on a regular basis, visit frequency as appropriate for the account level. • Liaise with the relevant intercompany plants to obtain necessary information on parts that require feasibility outside of the UK. Ideal Candidate The Account Manager will have a bright, positive can-do attitude whilst being an excellent team player. You will have great attention to detail and be excited to face new challenges. You will focus on continuous improvement both professionally and personally, and will always be customer focused. Essential Experience • Experience within a Sales role (B2B Sales). • Experience with Automotive OEM and Automotive tiered parts supply and /or technical part production. • A proven and successful track record of working to sales targets. • An understanding and ability to use a well-defined sales process. • Good computer skills and literacy with experience in outlook, Word and Excel. • To be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal/communication skills including good listening skills, patience and attention to detail. • Be a positive and self-motivated individual, and have the ability to work unsupervised to tight deadlines whilst prioritising your own workload. • Be committed and persistent with the ability to see a job through to conclusion, thorough and systematic, organised, inquisitive, factual, hard-working with a probing, questioning objective approach. • In addition, due to the nature of the business, reliability, flexibility and good timekeeping are essential requirements. Desirable Experience • Experience within a Manufacturing environment or a similar background. • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
