A leading construction company require an experienced Workshop Service Engineer to join them at this exciting time of growth. Workshop Service Engineer Main purpose of the role * Carry out maintenance and inspections on plant and equipment as directed by workshop manager with fault finding and preventative measures. Main Duties * Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. * Ensure risk assessments and method statements are followed for all activities * Maintain standards of dress and PPE to promote a professional organisation. * Make sure suitable PPE is worn during all work tasks as per the controls in the risk assessments. * Raise any concerns related to H&S to your line manager. This includes reporting of accidents, incidents & damage events * Ensure all equipment used or inspected is within test date and compliant with company policys and take item out of service and report to Line Manager and any non-compliance. * Working on excavators up to 35 tonne / Dumpers / Rollers / Small Tools / and other related construction equipment. This will include dealing with AdBlue faults, electrical, hydraulic and engine faults across a wide range of equipment. * Carrying out welding and using oxygen & acetylene. * Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment * Carry out fault finding, diagnostics of all plant equipment * Inform when job is complete to obtain next job/service/breakdown for parts required * Input information on services/breakdowns/daily onto service management system ensuring all returns and worksheets are up to date * Liaise daily with workshop manager and supervisor * Report any damage/misuse of any company assets to the workshop foreman (photos to be obtained for internal use) * Accurately monitor all stock levels used from the stores * Conduct all maintenance and repair work to industry and manufacturers specifications in a safe and timely manner. Qualifications Candidates must hold City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanics and will have worked on plant machinery. Experience * Demonstrable experience of maintaining a fleet of plant construction machinery * Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements * Knowledge and technical understanding of Engines – Transmissions – Axles – Hydraulic Pumps – Electrics – AdBlue systems. * Skilled in using a variety of plant based machinery and tools/equipment.
