We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Controller to lead and coordinate our team of skilled mobile and workshop technicians. Role Overview: As a Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our fleet maintenance operations. Reporting directly to the Depot Manager, you will oversee all aspects of workshop activities, from scheduling and managing workloads to ensuring the highest standards of service and repair are met. Your leadership will be key to maintaining a productive, motivated team, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability. Key Responsibilities: Team Management: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of mobile and workshop technicians to ensure timely and effective maintenance and repairs. Workload Planning: Coordinate and schedule work to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity in the workshop and for mobile technicians. Quality Control: Oversee the quality of work completed by technicians, ensuring all repairs and maintenance meet company standards and regulatory requirements. Communication: Act as the primary liaison between technicians and the Depot Manager, ensuring clear and consistent communication of workshop activities and priorities. Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to within the workshop and in the field, promoting a culture of safety among the team. Performance Monitoring: Track and report on workshop performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and service quality. Resource Management: Manage workshop resources, including tools, equipment, and parts inventory, to ensure the team is fully equipped to perform their duties.Requirements: Experience: Proven experience as a Workshop Controller or similar role within a fleet management environment, particularly with vans and HGVs. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and guiding teams to achieve high performance. Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair, particularly in relation to commercial vehicles. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships with both the team and senior management. Health & Safety: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations related to vehicle maintenance and workshop environments.What We Offer: Competitive salary of £45,000 per annum.
