Belmont Recruitment are recruiting for a Vehicle Workshop Technician to work with Fenland District Council. The role is to inspect, repair and maintain vehicles and plant owned and operated by Fenland District Council as well as to inspect, repair and maintain sewage treatment works and pumping stations. Responsibilities: * To carry out all types of repairs and preventative maintenance to manufacturers standards to ensure vehicles and plant are kept in good condition and safe to use. * To ensure all pre-planned vehicle safety inspections are carried out to the standards and frequency as required by VOSA. * To self manage workload and follow pre-planned maintenance schedules including arranging or pre-ordering spare parts as required. * To carry out compliance examinations to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire vehicles including the examination of taxi meters and production of compliance certificates pass or fail certificates liaising directly with the vehicle owner on any issues relating to pass or fail * To carry out planned maintenance and repair to sewage treatment works and pumping stations inputting into future maintenance schedules in co-operation with the council’s engineering team. * To maintain a category B and C driving Licence, Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) and Fork Lift drivers Licence. * To input into regular reviews of Risk Assessment and COSHH Assessment in all areas of workshop related work.
