ASL Technical are working with a leading Automotive Manufacturer in the search for a highly proficient Vehicle Technician /Mechanic specialising in Powertrain Diagnostics. This newly created opportunity is situated within our client's vehicle test services facility, focusing on prototype, pre-production, and production vehicles on a long-term contract basis. Key Responsibilities: Lead investigations into powertrain faults and/or performance issues. Reconfigure control module software through reflashing. Utilise various diagnostic software, including CANalyzer. Assemble/dis-assemble parts, components, or vehicles for static and dynamic test activities. Maintain the Test Vehicle Fleet, encompassing safety checks, retrofitting, fault identification, and repairs. Requirements: City & Guilds / IMI / NVQ Level 3 or BTEC, ideally in mechanical, electrical or automotive engineering with a recognised apprenticeship or qualification within a relevant field.                               Additional Skills and Experience: A strong understanding of vehicle dis-assembly, assembly, & maintenance procedures Fault finding and Vehicle diagnostics. Automotive Electronic / Electrical knowledge. Vehicle or component testing environment experience is preferred but not essential. IT Literate with experience of Microsoft packages such as Word and Excel. Able to understand and interpret vehicle data for report writing.
