Vehicle Mechanic Required for Very Interesting Automotive Fleet Company Required in Petersfield, Hampshire Pay: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Hours: 8am - 5pm = 40 hours per week  Progression into ManagementOur client a Rail and Forestry Company are currently seeking a Skilled Vehicle Mechanic to assist them with maintenance and repair of their Fleet of internally owned Vehicles.  The client seeks a dedicated individual to support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Yard and Workshops. As a Vehicle Mechanic with our client you will undertake various tasks aligned with their objectives and perform annual services on the company fleet. The role involves conducting routine vehicle and plant services, attending breakdowns to diagnose faults, and ensuring the safe continuation of journeys or arranging recovery when necessary. If you lack certain skills; don't worry our employer will train and skill you up all our client wants is enthusiasm, the right can do attitude and willingness to learn.  As a Vehicle Mechanic with our client your day to day duties will include but not limited too:  Perform routine service, maintenance, and repairs on our clients fleet vehicles Conduct vehicle and plant services and inspections, including the repair or replacement of damaged or worn parts Attend breakdowns across south-central England, diagnosing and repairing faults promptly Maintain accurate inventory records of equipment and machinery Receive and book-in deliveries of equipment and tools, ensuring smooth logistics operationsFurthermore, adherence to site safety regulations, maintaining clear workspaces, and following all applicable safe working methods and health, safety, and environmental procedures are crucial aspects of the position. The candidate should be prepared to share technical knowledge with non-technical audiences and uphold the ethos and values of the company, acting as a ambassador. Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion policies are essential. The ideal Vehicle Mechanic candidate holds an NVQ Level 3 diploma in light vehicle repair or equivalent, possesses recent experience in a similar mechanic role, and demonstrates proficiency in IT for digital data entry. Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities, along with a full UK driving license, are required. Methodical problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices are also essential. Physical fitness, willingness to work at heights, and the ability to work in inclement weather conditions are necessary. Desirable qualifications include recent experience in a similar position, small plant maintenance skills, towing experience, and familiarity with hydraulics and/or auto electrics.
