Order Ref: 39474 Position Title: Vehicle Attributes and Durability Engineer Duration: 12 Month Rolling Contract inside IR35 Location: Gaydon Division: Special Vehicle Operations Position Description: This role will aim to enhance the customer experience through the design, development, measurement and balance of customer attributes for the Clients' vehicles. The D&R Lead Engineer role is to ensure all customer expectations for vehicle Durability and Robustness of the Clients' vehicles are met or exceeded. This is achieved through attribute target setting & verification sign-off using both virtual and physical test methods. This role specifically will support the effective and successful development of the Clients' Armoured vehicles, taking responsibility for the D&R attribute on related programmes, reporting to the Vehicle Personalisation Attributes Manager and working directly within the Clients' Durability & Robustness Attribute team. The successful candidate will have a clear passion for the quality, continuous improvement and innovation of both our products and the way we work in the eyes of our internal and external customers, approaching all activities with unity and integrity Skills Required: Capable of Durability & Robustness attribute target setting and delivery. Vehicle level Durability & Robustness test planning and completion on Proving Ground, Public Road and Rig based environments. Effective technical problem solving and issue resolution, using data driven methods & tool sets Experience Required: Broad knowledge of vehicle technologies Understanding of Durability & Strength principles with a knowledge of data collection and analysis. Project management of complex engineering test activities Experience of problem solving including application of Root Cause Analysis, 8D, DoE etc. Understanding of Systems engineering principles and delivery Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred Microsoft package elements PowerPoint and Excel Experience Preferred: Knowledge of whole vehicle engineering and cross functional experience Armoured/Protection vehicle engineering processes, standards and challenges CAD visualisation systems (e.g. VisMockUp, 3DX) Additional Information: Will be based primarily at Gaydon with flexible working i.e. working from home on certain days as required but will need to be present in the office at least 3 days a week to achieve objectives. Likely requirement to visit third party test sites such as MIRA in UK and stretch potential for European travel if possible at the time
