UX RESEARCHER Work Hours -DAYS 40 Hours Location -Gaydon Contract Inside IR35 Rate £32.57 (Umbrella) We are looking for a UX Researcher to join a world leading automotive based in Gaydon on a contract basis. This role exists to research and create fundamental user interface principles for interaction design for future products Key Accountabilities of the UX Researcher: Developing a thorough understanding and knowledge of human behaviour within the vehicle environment Applying this expertise to design future interface systems for the company. Conducting scientific experiments to validate the core principles of user interaction in the vehicle. Using the output of this work to establish the operation principles of vehicle-based user interfaces incorporating insights from Psychology, Human Factors and cognitive science. Developing a naturalistic understanding of how users interact in cars and using this to create highly effective interface systems. Considering the impact of in-vehicle systems on driving tasks with the primary goal of designing systems that aid drivers in performing these tasks Collaborating with a team of interaction designers and behaviour specialists to develop and validate future interface systems from initial concept to real world environments. We are looking for a UX Researcher with: Has experience with user interface research and familiar with the science of human interaction in the vehicle and capable of interpreting qualitative and quantitative data to refine design solutions. Batchelors Degree or equivalent experience in Human Computer Interaction, Product Design (with a focus on user interfaces), Psychology, Human Factors / Ergonomics, with a particular interest in fundamental research into in-vehicle interface systems Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to manage senior stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels Familiar with a human-centred design process Experience of delivering technical products as part of a team Have the ability to react quickly to short time scales Assimilate how to collect data to answer detailed research questions Rate £32.57 (Umbrella) The final pay rates offered are made up of three elements, Hourly pay rate, Holiday pay and Apex Recruitment’s contribution to the payroll administrator’s deductions.
