Traffic Management Supervisor Job location: Crawley / East Sussex regions (Field based role) Job type: Full time, permanent Job Ref: 618 Telent are looking for an experienced Traffic Management Supervisor who is in search of a new challenge to come and join the Traffic Management team as part of the wider Transport division. We have a vacancy available for the right candidate who will join our continually expanding Crawley based Traffic team. We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic, and driven candidate to assist us in providing Traffic Management support across a range of contracts. Traffic Management Supervisor - Basic key responsibilities: Assist the Traffic Management Contract Manager with day-to-day planning and resourcing of Traffic Management Operatives Attend site meetings with internal Telent teams and Contractors when required Undertake site audits as and when required Ensure Traffic Management has sufficient equipment and kit to undertake current and upcoming workloads Ensure compliance against Telent Health & Safety policies and procedures Supervise Traffic Management Operatives in the depot and on the highways Deploy Traffic Management on both planned and reactive works Issue work instructions to team members Deliver toolbox talks and internal Health & Safety communications to team members Undertake weekly on-call shifts from time to time Work to defined scheme drawings in accordance with Sector 8 and Red Book Basic sign making and general housekeeping in depot and on site Overlook site maintenance, including battery exchanges and site switches Permanent signal switch offs when required Provide onsite assistance to the installation teams if and when needed Help load and unload equipment onto vehiclesThe Traffic Management Supervisor must have: Self-motivation, good work ethic and a positive attitude A valid and clean UK driving licence A good attitude towards pressure Good communication skills Basic mechanical knowledge Experience of or a background of Traffic ManagementTraffic Management Supervisor - Essential requirements: A valid and clean UK driving licence. National Highways Sector Scheme (NHSS) 12A/B and 12D Previous experience of working on the highways as a Traffic Management Operative / Supervisor Have a strong understanding of on-site Health & Safety and CDM regulations Good people management skills, ability to manage conflict, difficult customers and difficult situations Excellent Traffic Management design and implementation experience Knowledge and understanding of Chapter 8 (Sector 8) and NHSS 12AB and 12D LGV/HGV driving licence (DESIRABLE) Valid 12AB and 12D / M6 / M7 Qualifications (DESIRABLE) IOSH Working Safely (DESIRABLE)What we offer: A career at Telent can span sectors, roles, technologies, and customers giving you the opportunity to develop, learn new skills and make an impact.
