Working at the heart of their operation, Toyotas maintenance technicians play a critical part in the production of every single Toyota Vehicle that roles off the production line, which to date sits at over 4.5 million cars. There are currently over 200 skilled maintenance technicians working across the companies 5 prestigious shops, each working in collaboration with each other to ensure machinery is running smoothly and production isn’t impacted.  The shops encompass the whole manufacturing process starting in the body shop working right through to assembly before hitting the bright lights of quality control. Body, Press, Paint, Plastics, Assembly Nestled within their busy press department sits the Tool & Die team. These highly skilled craft people are responsible for arguably the sites most hands on part of the complex manufacturing process, intricately creating the tools and dies required to produce the vehicles. As a tool and die maintenance technician will be responsible for: Utilising machinery such as milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes. Preparation and maintenance of existing tooling Attending to breakdown on press tooling Supporting with the production of new press tooling. Mechanical strip and rebuilding Welding (Stainless steel/TIG) & Laser (Training given) Machining and fabrication What do Toyota Look for? TMUK has a leading training academy which will help bring you in line with the standard of engineering on site. All they require you to have is the following: Experience working as a maintenance technician and/or tool maker. Recognised Level 3 engineering qualification NVQ/ C&G (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics) Experience within an engineering environment Flexibility to complete the occasional overtime shift.
