TIG Welder Aerospace £31,889 generous pension, and overtime availability at £22.09 ph An international manufacturer of critical parts to aerospace customers is looking to secure the services of a first-class Welding operative who can fabricate and assemble components using manual TIG Welding, operate semi-automated Circumferential and Longitudinal Welding machines whilst following strict guidelines covering safety, quality, and work instructions. Working with exotic materials to tight tolerance you will be supported through an initial 13-week training & induction period. It is expected that you will be an Apprenticed Engineer with experience of working within process driven manufacturing environments where quality is paramount, and standards are high. Duties will include but not be restricted to, * Work on semi-automated welding equipment for both Circumferential and Longitudinal welds. * Conduct weld inspection operations to customer drawings. * Conduct TIG welding as and when required. * Conduct weld repairs as and when required. * Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards) * Interpret drawings. * Work meticulously to work instructions and procedures. * Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance requirements. * Provide feedback on production issues as and when they arise. * Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures. * Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures. * Other duties as assigned, requested, or needed. Education and Experience: * NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline - Desirable * Proven track record in welding - Essential * Aerospace experience – Desirable * Experience with semi-automated Welding - Desirable * Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) - Essential * Experience of working to production targets - Essential In return you will work a 37-hour Days/Afters with Friday evenings free and be supported in your continued development with potential for career progression
