About this position: This company is a market leading off road electric motorcycle manufacturer. We design, develop, manufacture, and distribute globally market leading products. All design work and prototyping is undertaken in the UK at the Hastings head office. This company is looking for a highly capable and enthusiastic Temporary Technical Administrator with a view to go perm to provide a complete technical administration service to the R&D engineering and design team, from producing simple drawings on behalf of engineers to completing drawing checks and ensuring appropriate and accurate change documentation and procedures for drawing and Bill of Material (BOM) releases. A key objective of this role is to provide support to the R&D team in order to maximise the effectiveness of the Department and ensure an efficient interface/amalgamation with my clients' practices and procedures. Responsibilities: * Create Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) change documents for drawing releases, on behalf of engineers. * Complete drawing release checks, to relevant sections of drawing release procedure, and feed back to engineers as necessary. * Create PLM change documents for Bill of Material (BOM) releases, on behalf of engineers. * Complete BOM release checks, to relevant sections of BOM procedure, and feed back to engineers as necessary. * Produce simple drawings on behalf of engineers. For example, parts manufactured to production drawings; drawings for administrative purposes * Raise and progress internal orders to Design procedures e.g. motorcycles and parts, prototype parts, stores transfers * Raise and progress external orders to Design procedures e.g. benchmark motorcycles and parts, prototype and pre-production parts * Raise and progress shipments of motorcycles and pallets to Design procedures * Team administration, for example: spend monitor, Initial Sample Inspection Report (ISIR) log, time off in lieu (TOIL) and overtime sheets (if/when authorised) * Raising of and/or updating any relevant department procedures * Additional administrative tasks as required by the Design & Development Team leader. * To undertake and assist with projects as required by your Manager. * Any other ad-hoc duties as required by your Manager. Experience Required: * An understanding of basic engineering principles, ideally with significant experience in a similar role * Competent and experienced in completing design drawing release checks and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) change documents * Able to produce and update simple drawings on behalf of design engineers * Wealth of experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) checks and liaising with engineers * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Programmes (Excel, Publisher, Powerpoint)
