Due to the award of new programs, they have a number of new vacancies to join their expanding team and are currently recruiting for an experienced Systems Requirements Engineer Location: Coventry, Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Warwick (hybrid working) Salary: Dependant on Experience Suitable For: Systems Requirement Engineer, Senior Systems Engineer. The Role Engage with stakeholders, including customers, project managers, and engineering teams, to gather and define system requirements. Conduct interviews, workshops, and analysis to understand the needs and constraints of the project. Develop clear, concise, and comprehensive requirements documentation, including use cases, functional and non-functional requirements, system specifications, and interface descriptions. Utilise requirements management tools to track, manage, and trace requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that all changes to requirements are documented and communicated effectively. Serve as the primary liaison between stakeholders and the engineering team, ensuring that all parties have a clear understanding of the requirements and their implications on design and implementation. Collaborate with the testing and quality assurance teams to ensure verification and validation coverage of requirements. Ensure requirement status is accurately captured and manage V&V failures. Identify and assess risks related to system requirements. Work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies and ensure that risks are effectively managed. Manage and document any changes to requirements during the development process. Ensure that all changes are evaluated for impact and are approved through the proper channels. Contribute to the continuous improvement of requirements engineering processes and best practices. Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and techniques related to systems engineering and requirements management. The Candidate A degree or similar qualification in an engineering discipline At least 3 years relevant experience of requirements engineering applied to high integrity software intensive systems OR formal qualifications in Systems Engineering. A sound understanding of engineering, physics and applied mathematics and their application to solving real world problems. Proven experience in gathering, documenting, and managing complex system requirements. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices, including requirements analysis, traceability, and verification/validation. Proficiency in requirements management tools (e.g., IBM Rational DOORS, Jama, ReqIF). Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the domain (e.g., ISO/IEC 15288, ISO 26262, DO-178C). Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office & applications.
