We are seeking a Systems Engineer within Model Configuration Management to join their team on a permanent or contract basis.  You will work on a hybrid working pattern with the head office based in the Lancashire area, where site presence is required 2 days, every 2 weeks. This role will support remote working and can be based anywhere in the UK, provided the onsite requirement can be fulfilled. Salary:  £ Negotiable + an excellent set of benefits including:  Highly competitive salary / hourly rate 185 hours of annual leave Matched Pension of up to 8% (salary sacrifice option available) Life Insurance Smart Health Medicash Health Plan Employee Assistance Program Flexi Time Enhanced Maternity Policy   The Role: You will be part of a team who are actively engaged in a critical role to support the Dreadnought programme to develop the functional design of the Active Vehicle Control System (AVCS) employing Model Based Engineering techniques at scale, on a safety critical system. Key responsibilities include: Manage and maintain model configuration against design standards and the release of compatible model standards into test and assessment deployments. Develop a virtual test capability that will allow the functions of the Function Requirement Specification to be assessed within the whole boat environment. Effective leadership of Configuration Management Configuration management of the Functional Development Team models. Maintain consistent communication across the AVC ‘One Team’ construct. Develop and harmonise processes in line with Submarines and Air Sector policies. Govern the use of configuration tools. Capture Learning from Experience (LFE). The Person The Systems Engineer will specialise within Model Configuration Management and possess the drive and discipline to operate on a remote hybrid basis with very limited travel required to support the onsite demand of 2 days per 2 weeks basis. You will be self-starter who is able to utilise your experience and knowledge within configuration management to enable the proficient use of Mathworks Toolsets, this includes but not limited to MATLAB and Simulink. Experience Required for the Systems Engineer role: Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience in relevant areas. Experience in a related Engineering discipline. Technical proficiency in modelling and simulation based on MATLAB and SIMULINK. Experience in a virtual testing environment is highly desirable. Able to attend site 2 days every 2 weeks.
