Supplier Quality Engineer Position Overview Due to growth, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supplier Quality Engineer with to join our client’s dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of the supply chain, particularly in the realm of composite materials. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) methodologies to drive continuous improvement and excellence in supplier quality. Key Responsibilities Supplier Qualification and Development: Evaluate potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities, quality systems, and compliance with industry standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality assurance processes and standards. Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements. Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues. APQP and PPAP: Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, working closely with suppliers to ensure timely and effective execution. Coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities, including documentation review, submission, and approval. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain. Develop risk mitigation plans and strategies to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality components. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality and performance of supplier processes. Implement tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) to optimize supplier performance. Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams to address quality issues and drive resolution. Provide technical expertise and guidance on composite material selection, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of supplier quality performance, including non-conformances, corrective actions, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate quality status and improvement initiatives to management. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, with a focus on composite materials. In-depth knowledge of (APQP) and (PPAP) methodologies. Experience in conducting supplier audits and assessments. Proficiency in problem-solving techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment. Certification in quality management systems (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus. Understanding of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and quality requirements would be a distinct advantage.
