About this position: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Subject Matter Expert (Mechanical Engineering) to work for bespoke engineering company based in the West Midlands. Job Responsibilities: Serve as the primary technical authority in mechanical engineering, offering expert guidance and solutions to complex challenges. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in mechanical engineering and CAD technologies. CAD Management: Lead and oversee all aspects of CAD design, including software tools, standards development, and workflow optimization. Ensure the efficient and accurate creation of 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and documentation. Systems Thinking: Apply a systems-oriented approach to engineering, emphasizing the integration of mechanical systems within broader product ecosystems. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize system-level performance and reliability. Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team, fostering innovation and excellence. Guide team members in implementing best practices for CAD and systems engineering. Project Support: Collaborate on projects, offering technical expertise and ensuring designs meet high-quality, performance, and safety standards. Participate in project reviews and provide valuable insights. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control processes to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical products. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all mechanical engineering projects adhere to applicable industry standards and regulations. Experience Required: * Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. * Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least several years serving as a subject matter expert. * Proficiency in CAD software (ideally Catia) and expertise in systems engineering principles. * Strong project management skills. * Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. * In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
