PROFILE: Our client, a world leader in the design & manufacturing of large & complex structural assemblies, metallic components and systems, is looking for a Skilled Level 3 certified Spray Painter. To operate as a multi-skilled, flexible worker to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency. Tasks will be undertaken and worked through the use of Spraying, paint touch up and cleaning requiring the use of both Solvents and primer paints and power tooling **Candidate MUST have Level 3 quals in painting** Role will be working the client’s 7 Day Fortnight shift, week one is: Mon, Tues, Weds, Sat & Sun then week two is Thurs and Fri. Hours are 7am till 6.30pm Monday to Friday Sat 7am till 5.30pm and Sunday 7am until 12noon KEY DELIVERABLES: Spray painting aerospace/aviation components of varying sizes Working in temperature controlled booth Working with a variety of paints from gloss to matt, water based and solvent Ensure parts are produced on a 'right first time' basis Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system Responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process Team Leader Adhering to the requirements of the GKNAF Quality Procedures Accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974 To hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval) Responsible for general housekeeping within the area KEY SKILLS A recognised paint spraying indentured apprenticeship and ideally have previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment. minimum of NVQ Level 3 certificates Prior spray-painting experience in either aerospace or automotive industries would be highly beneficial Ability to sort all paint defects interior or exterior using various tools and techniques be it by using spray gun, brush head or roller head Be fully conversant with all equipment, and tools associated with the Paint Spraying process Ability to work to standard operating procedures Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
