Service Diagnostic Project Engineer Gordon Murray Automotive currently have an exciting opportunity for a Diagnostic Project Engineer to join our Serviceability Team based in Windlesham & Shalford, Surrey. Reporting to the Service Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for provisioning the information and tools required to support service diagnostics on GMA products. Key Responsibilities * Analyse diagnostic session feedback for business reporting and quality improvement. * Support the development of the Service tool runtime. * Support the development of the Diagnostic Web Portal in conjunction with the supplier. * Own change management of software updates from engineering into the service network. * Diagnostic system user management for the global service network. * Provide diagnostic support to the Technical and Service workshop teams. * Specify, develop and deliver diagnostic-related special service tooling for use against all current and future programmes, maximizing tool reuse where possible. * Support the development of electrical Options and Accessories. * Develop and validate supporting documents where applicable, such as Guided Trouble Shooting Test Steps. * Be instrumental in delivering initiatives to improve productivity and efficiency within the department. * Support the creation of timing plans and business cases for Service Engineering related projects and ensure these are delivered within agreed timelines. * Work within the programme to promote and protect authoring requirements and standards. * Gather, collate and interpret engineering information from governed sources. * Lead validation activities in conjunction with key stakeholders. * Co-ordinate data from/to third party suppliers to progress any outsourced workstreams. * To action any other task and/or projects to match business requirements. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise * Extensive knowledge of whole vehicle service, maintenance and repair techniques. Previous hands on experience is desirable. * Experience of using CAD visualisation tools (CATIA/Enovia/3DX Experience highly desirable, but not essential). * Computer literate – Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Creative Cloud * Proven track record for project and task management. * Proven experience in authoring technical publications for targeted end users is highly desirable. * Bill of Materials or change management experience is desirable. * Experience of working within an automotive OEM or Tier 1 Supplier is beneficial. * Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients * Approachable and adaptable to change. Proactive and autonomous. Comfortable challenging existing processes. * Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable * Mobile and willing to travel as required (limited travel anticipated within role)
