Senior Software Systems Engineer Staffordshire, UK £50,000 – 60,000 + benefits This role involves the derivation of technical product requirements and software specifications from customer requirements. Note: You will need previous experience of developing software requirements / software architecture, ideally for mechatronic control software (Matlab / Simulink), embedded software or electromechanical systems. This role requires the ability to develop technical requirements and product specifications from customer driven requirements. As senior software systems engineer you will; 1. Derive technical product requirements and specifications from customer requirements. 2. Develop systems / software architecture – embedded software / model based control 3. Mentor junior software / control systems engineers. 4. Work as part of a team to develop architecture and products features and functions utilising embedded C / model based software methods (e.g. Matlab / Simulink) The company designs and manufactures vehicles and machines for the off-highway, agricultural and construction industries. Required: Senior Software Systems Engineer * A degree or masters in a relevant subject (e.g. electronic engineering, mechatronics, computer science) * 4-5+ years of industry experience developing software for relevant products (ideally involving mechatronics or control) – embedded C, Model based (Matlab / Simulink) * Evidence of deriving technical product requirements and specifications from customer requirements (internal / external) * Able to mentor and develop junior engineers. * Able to work as part of a team to develop product architecture, features and software functions * Experience of model based software development (Matlab / Simulink) * Experience gained within the off-highway vehicle, automotive, rail, avionics or machinery industry would be preferred but others can be considered Our client is offering a salary of £50,000 - £60,000 for this position, depending on experience.
