Role: Survival Equipment Lead Trainer / NVQ Assessor Salary: Upon Application Location: Shawbury Hours: 40 hours per week We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced survival equipment specialist who would like to share their knowledge and expertise in a training role to inspire and support the survival equipment specialists of the future. This role is based at Shawbury but will involve regular visits to various other sites in the UK. The position is both varied and demanding, and requires high levels of self-confidence, independence, and resourcefulness. You will champion a total safety approach, always ensuring full compliance with all relevant health, safety and environment regulations and exercise a positive approach towards workplace health and safety whilst promoting best practice. The Survival Equipment Lead Trainer / Assessor Role * The planning, design, development and delivery of survival equipment training packages to meet the requirements of an NVQ Level 3 extended diploma in aeronautical engineering (survival equipment maintenance). This will include the course syllabus, presentations and training notes that meet customer, legislative and quality requirements. * Managing the implementation of an NVQ Level 3 in survival equipment maintenance, including student and NVQ assessor elements. * Deliver and assess survival equipment training to trainees, ensuring they develop the skills and behaviours required to successfully achieve their Level 3 NVQ standard through high quality teaching, learning and assessment. * Maintaining and updating training courseware in response to new training requirements, recommendations / feedback, and changes to survival equipment policy. * Monitor trainees progress, identifying any support needs and updating records with details of progress. Providing formative assessment activities and use these to provide feedback to trainees on progress and how to improve their learning. * Adopt an experiential learning (hands-on) approach to the training delivery. * Liaising with the appropriate aviation industry and Company departments, to remain aware of current procedures, changing trends and polices that are relevant to the trade specialisation. * Maintain trade competency and experience by assisting colleagues in the survival equipment section with routine survival equipment maintenance and repair tasks, working flexibility around the training programme to help maintain the operational resilience of the section. Experience * Formal engineering training in RAF Trade Group 13 or other Service / industry equivalent. * An appropriate training qualification. * Knowledge in course design and have contributed to the design of training courses. * NVQ assessment experience. * Extensive knowledge of military technical publications, documents and procedures and the ability to interpret the source information in the production of training courseware. * Holds or able to gain SC clearance. * Excellent IT skills.
