AEX Recruitment Ltd is looking for a Security & Emergency Response Officer to join our clients team in Millbrook, Bedford. A leading company in the field of development and testing within the automotive industry. Job Description The successful role holder will be responsible for maintaining high standards of performance, discipline & appearance and in addition possess a proactive approach to security. Responsibilities * Protection of Company premises, assets & personnel * Providing administrative support as required * Providing Emergency response cover to the site, using relevant equipment & training including Breathing Apparatus * Welcoming Guests & providing a positive Guest experience * Monitoring & authorising entrance & departure of employees, guests & other persons to guard against theft & maintain security of premises * Completing reports of daily activities & irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorised persons or unusual occurrences * Inspection & adjustment of security systems, equipment & machinery to ensure operational use & to detect evidence of tampering * Answering all alarms & investigating disturbances * Conducting searches of personnel & vehicles * Providing cover of main switchboard & Radio control during non-standard hours PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 4 ON 4 OFF SHIFT Qualifications Good standard of education SIA Licence preferred not mandatory First Aid at Work Certificate preferred but not mandatory as training will be provided Professional Firefighting qualification or experience would be a distinct advantage Core competencies Previous security role Experienced in a customer-focused role Skills Fire related background / experience Having a basic knowledge of IT using Microsoft Office packages Good verbal & written communication skills A good knowledge of customer care A confident approach & ability to deal with difficult/confrontational people The ability to work with technical equipment (e.g. CCTV & Radios) Sound knowledge of mechanical principles associate with vehicle safety testing Excellent oral and written communicator IT literate An understanding of human injury levels and the limitations of dummy instrumentation Knowledge of high speed data and video capture considered an advantage Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Strong organisational, analytical and problem solving skills Personal Behaviours The ability to respond positively to stressful situations Customer focussed, polite & approachable The ability to follow instructions Willingness to learn with a flexible and adaptable attitude High level of confidentiality and integrity You must have full colour vision Good Level of physical fitness Full UK driving licence & own transport (Client is not easily assessable via public transport) SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years) Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check If you are interested in this exciting role, or would like to discuss in more detail, please contact Nicola on (phone number removed) or submit your CV for a call back
