Rework Technician About the role: The role of the Assembly Automotive Technician is to work as part of a multi-functional team, reporting to the Production Team Leader. The role encourages involvement in improving performance for the team, in quality and cost control, productivity and areas of safety. You would be expected to lead by example and build upon the teams based working approach and embed a no faults forward approach whilst ensuring moral, behaviours and environment is maintained inline to the company's standards. The role requires a flexible approach to working hours, including shifts. Weekend work and overtime when required. Key Responsibilities: Perform assembly, installation, and adjustment of mechanical,electrical, and electronic components on McLaren vehicles according to engineering specifications and quality standards. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and techniques. Conduct rework tasks such as panel and component replacements to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of McLaren vehicles. Execute repairs and replacements of defective components with precision and efficiency, minimising vehicle downtime and maximising customer satisfaction. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on product improvements and contribute to the continuous enhancement of McLaren vehicles. Operate on production processes with a high degree of accuracy and potentially adjustment are required. Operate specialist testing and diagnostic equipmentRequirements: Relevant certifications or qualifications in automotive engineering or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, IMI accreditation) are desirable. Proven experience as an automotive technician, preferably within a high-performance or luxury automotive environment. Strong technical proficiency in automotive mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostics. Extensive knowledge of automotive assembly techniques, tools, and equipment. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering specifications.
