Investigation Engineer Permanent Position Monday – Thursday 8am-4:30pm, Friday 1:30pm finish Competitive Salary, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays 4x annual salary life assurance, pension Sunbury on Thames Our client are a leading manufacturer providing specialist solutions to a variety of industries such as aerospace, power generation, rail and oil and gas industries. They are looking for an experienced Investigation Engineer to join the team. Investigation Engineer Management of investigations for products returned from customers for repair and products failing in service and during the internal manufacturing processes.  Support for Mechanical Inspection as required. Main Duties/Responsibilities Organise repairs and returns upon receipt Maintain returns database Facilitate the identification and confirmation of fault types (mechanical and electrical) Perform routine high volume assessments for overhauls by unit strip down using visual inspection techniques Support investigations into internal product failures using electrical and mechanical test equipment Document repair and overhaul instructions incorporating EASA Part 145 requirements Administration of all investigation documentation ensuring traceability is retained at all times Producing investigation reports for the customer and supporting the production of 8D responses Support the non-conformance reporting process Support mechanical inspection of all company products using a wide range of and measuring tools and other inspection equipment including the CMM Support for verification of supplier FAIRs Support for compiling FAIRs to AS9102 for internal products. On occasion you may be required to take on ad hoc duties which includes, but is not limited to training, department associated tasks and brief secondment to other departments Experience of Electrical testing (desirable experience) Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications; Ability to read Engineering Drawings Ability to measure using Micrometres and Verniers Microsoft office skills, including creation of Excel spreadsheets Good command of the English language and very articulate Good presentation and strong communication skills to customers and senior management. Able to write comprehensive reports. Understanding of regulatory requirements appertaining the supply of product for the Aerospace and Defence industries Proven track record of working in a Quality Engineering role within a dynamic operations environment Engineering career background Familiar with the requirements of AS9100, EASA Parts 21G & 145 and FAA standards/regulations
