It’s no wonder that Caldwell & Dempster is considered one of the very finest independent garages in Banchory and surrounding areas Job Role: Due to business demands, we are now seeking a Qualified Mechanic to join our team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our fleet and equipment remain in top working condition, supporting the smooth operation of our projects. Key Responsibilities: • Carry out a wide range of mechanical and electrical repairs on cars, vans (up to 3.5t), and motorcycles. • Service and maintain various makes and models, including electric, hybrid, and Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. • Perform advanced diagnostics using leading manufacturer-level equipment. • Carry out 4-wheel laser wheel alignment and other precision servicing tasks to dealer-standard quality. • Replace key components such as brakes, clutches, turbos, and exhaust systems. • Provide AdBlue solutions and fit tyres—budget to premium—on all vehicle types. • Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service in line with our long-standing reputation for honesty and reliability. • Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology and industry best practices. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: • Minimum 2 years of previous experience in mechanics • Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing, diagnostics, and repairs across a variety of makes and models. • Familiarity with modern automotive technology, including hybrid and electric vehicles. • Experience using diagnostic tools and manufacturer-level equipment. • Competence in fitting tyres, repairing brakes and clutches, and replacing major components such as turbos. • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Full driving licence.
