Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, are actively seeking an experienced Prototype Vehicle Build Technician to join their highly successful team with immediate effect on a Contract basis (Inside IR35) for a period of 6 months initially, with a high likelihood of this being extended at the end of the term. On offer to the successful candidate is a competitive, albeit negotiable hourly rate, albeit based on relevant experience. This role is to be recruited on a day shift basis; typical working week hours (39). As the Prototype Whole Vehicle Build Technician, you will be required to tear-down, build, service and maintain prototype vehicles / bucks to facilitate both whole vehicle & component testing. You will also support overseas testing. Your duties and responsibilities will be: Follow H&S guidelines. Complete full vehicle tear down ensuring no parts are damaged so that they can be re-fitted after build. Full vehicle build – Bay Builds. Strip and inspect parts. Measure components. Modification of components via containments. Liaise with system and development engineers regarding possible issues identified. Problem solving to aid in solution of current vehicle issues.You will have the following qualifications & experience: Should ideally have a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification level 3, with a few years Automotive trade exposure, but plenty of relevant experience will be considered. Should be an experienced Prototype Vehicle Build Technician with skills in full vehicle teardown and mechanics with your experiences having been gained from working in an Automotive and/or Motorsport environment. You will have the ability to perform fine detail work and detailed inspection. Should ideally be competent with Teamcenter and able to look at vehicle bucks to assist with build. You will be experienced with hand tools and computer literate. Should have the ability to read engineering drawings with skills in failure investigations and problem solving.This position is available with immediate effect.
