Are you an experienced Procurement Manager with a deep understanding of buying, tendering, and supplier management within the engineering sector?  We are seeking a dynamic and driven Project Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of critical materials and parts for high-value projects, ideally within the rail industry. About the Role: As the Project Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of essential materials and parts. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects that meet technical specifications, budgets, and timelines. With offices in Northampton or London, you’ll have the flexibility to work from either location and will join a forward-thinking team that thrives on collaboration and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Lead the full procurement lifecycle, from tendering and contract negotiation to supplier selection and order placement. Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring optimal pricing and quality standards are met. Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and procedures, particularly within the engineering and rail sectors. Coordinate with project teams to ensure the timely delivery of materials and parts to meet project timelines. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and new procurement opportunities. Manage project budgets and provide regular reports on procurement status, cost savings, and supplier performance. Oversee supplier performance management, ensuring key KPIs such as quality, delivery, and cost are achieved. What We’re Looking For: Procurement Expertise: Extensive experience in buying, tendering, and managing suppliers within the engineering sector, with rail experience highly desirable. Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with project goals and company objectives. Supplier Management: Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and delivering cost savings without compromising quality. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with project teams, suppliers, and senior management. Organised & Detail-Oriented: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail at all times. Qualifications & Experience: Solid experience in procurement, particularly in materials and parts for engineering projects. In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, tendering, and contract management. Experience within the rail sector or a related engineering industry is preferred.
