Project Manager - Manufacturing Permanent Bedford £40,000 - £50,000 Full time, 38 hours per week 1st Choice is currently collaborating with an industry leading aerospace research company based in Bedford, who are in search of an adept Project Manager that specialises in Design and Manufacturing. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of project portfolios and programs and collaborating closely with technical and resource managers, and the management team. Projects will include manufacturing, R&D, and business improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Head of Design and Manufacture, the successful candidate must demonstrate a track record of successfully delivering multiple technical projects concurrently and within demanding constraints in a project-based technical environment. Please note: Due to the nature of the role, applicants are required to have been residing in the UK for at least 5 years. Responsibilities: Coordinate project teams to achieve business benefits within portfolios or programs. Serve as the main liaison with internal clients and department heads for conflict resolution. Define project requirements, manage risks, and ensure effective baselines for change management. Develop work breakdown structures, manage schedules, and address issues with the project team. Advance project management capabilities within the department and support skill development across the organization. Flexibility to occasionally work outside regular hours. Requirements: University degree or equivalent experience in engineering. Project management qualification preferred, but experience managing complex projects is crucial. Ability to grasp technical concepts with guidance. Strong communication skills in English. Demonstrated leadership in technical projects, preferably with commercial experience. Minimum of 2 years' experience in project management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Capabilities: Competent project manager with strong leadership skills. Effective interpersonal and influencing abilities. Technically proficient with engineering practices. Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and ability to make prompt decisions.
