We are working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturer based in the West Midlands that supplies major OEMs across the UK and Europe. With a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality engineered components and systems, the company is entering a significant growth phase and now seeks a Project Manager to lead new product introduction (NPI) and customer programs from concept to production. About the Role As Project Manager, you will take ownership of multiple high-profile automotive projects, ensuring delivery against customer requirements, budget, and deadlines. You’ll be the central point of contact between cross-functional teams – including engineering, production, and quality – and the customer. This is a highly visible role within the business, suited to someone with strong stakeholder management skills and a passion for engineering excellence. CAD experience (e.g. CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar) is highly desirable to support design reviews and technical conversations with both internal teams and clients. Key Responsibilities * Manage the full project lifecycle, from RFQ and concept through to production handover. * Serve as the main customer contact, ensuring clear communication and high satisfaction throughout. * Define project plans, timing, and resource allocation, working across internal departments to ensure project milestones are met. * Lead internal APQP and PPAP activities in coordination with quality and engineering teams. * Conduct design reviews and support DFM/DFA activities using CAD tools (experience with CATIA or SolidWorks preferred). * Identify and mitigate risks early in the project lifecycle. * Prepare and deliver project updates, status reports, and KPI reviews to senior leadership and customers. * Support commercial discussions related to changes in scope, timing, or cost. * Proven experience as a Project Manager in an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturing environment. * Familiarity with OEM program delivery and new product introduction (NPI). * Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. injection moulding, stamping, assemblies). * Working knowledge of CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar). * Experience with automotive quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans. * Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills. * Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships. * Engineering degree or similar technical qualification is preferred.
